Bacha Khan International University Khost: Delegations Meet for Establishing Committees

The Afghan and Awami National Party focal points held the initial meeting on Bacha Khan International University establishment. The meeting has taken place in Kabul at the Strategic Center for International Relations main office. Dr. Khadim Hussain, Managing Director of Baacha Khan Trust Educational Foundation (BKTEF), represented the Awami National Party.

Both parties have discussed the several points of interest for establishing Bacha Khan International University at Khost province. The matter has already been raised during the visit of Awami National Party leadership in Kabul. The Idea of enhancing the cooperation between people of both sides on Durand Line will help in getting rid, from ongoing fundamentalism and terrorism. This mega project will bring prosperity and peace to the region.

Asfandyar Wali Khan has already clarified while talking to the Afghan Tribune that “Supporting education anywhere in the world is the leading motive of the Awami National Party, and they are ready to support the Bacha Khan International University in Khost.” Both parts agreed to establish commissions on both sides and actions committees and a secretariat at Khost province.

A framework of having meetings at Peshawar and Kabul after each 3 months was also discussed.

The leadership of Awami National Party has also shown interest visiting Khost province in the upcoming month. Then soon later a donor’s conference will be called in Kabul to support the mega project of establishing Bacha Khan International University.
