Fentanyl Deaths Plummet Under Trump

The second Trump administration’s crackdown on fentanyl has cut overdose deaths by nearly two-thirds in a single year. According to CDC numbers, fatalities dropped from about 110,000 in 2024 to 40,000 in 2025. That is what happens when you stop letting China and the Mexican cartels flood our streets with poison and actually do something about it.

After taking office in January 2025, Trump immediately labeled fentanyl and its ingredients as weapons of mass destruction. The result: cartel boats were sunk at sea, Chinese chemical suppliers faced tariffs and sanctions, and border enforcement was finally taken seriously. Under Biden, the cartels had free rein and American cities paid the price. Trump’s policy treats traffickers as the enemy and stops them before they can dump their poison here.

Operations like Southern Spear saw U.S. forces sink more than 20 cartel boats in international waters, killing smugglers and seizing tons of fentanyl ingredients. Mass deportations of illegal aliens tied to drug rings and new laws with the death penalty for major dealers have gutted the supply chain. Texas and Florida have seen overdose calls cut in half. Meanwhile, California complains about 'overreach' even as their own overdose numbers finally start to drop.

This is what happens when you put American lives ahead of foreign interests and empty talk. Trump’s actions saved tens of thousands of lives and made it clear to Beijing and the Sinaloa cartel: mess with our people, and you will pay the price. The results speak for themselves.
