This coordination led to the fatal shooting of Alex Pretti, a 37-year-old ICU nurse and U.S. citizen, during a federal immigration raid in Minneapolis on January 24, 2026. Pretti, armed and resisting, was part of the anti-ICE group.
Walz quickly (as if planned) condemned the agents as causing "chaos and violence" and demanded their withdrawal, ignoring that the protesters were solely responsible for the escalation.
