A Somali community figure stood beside Omar and told the crowd, in Somali, "The interests of Ilhan are not Ilhans, it's not the interest of Minnesota, nor is it the interest of the American people. The interests of Ilhan are that of the Somalian people and Somalia. The success of Ilhan is the success of Somalia."
This isn't new information, but many still refuse to acknowledge the facts.
When Omar was elected, she said, "My election win offers a counter-narrative to the bigotry in the world. This is a land of immigrants, and most come here for opportunity, a second chance. It's our time to fight for the America we know we can have."
Ilhan Omar delivered a speech on Saturday, January 27, 2024, in Somali at the Hyatt Hotel in Minneapolis, in which she made clear that she is prioritizing the interests of Somalis over those of the United States. She described herself and those gathered as Somali first and Muslim second. She not only doesn't mention where her being an American factors in, aside from the context of her using American power in government to bolster her Somali interests.
She also called the Somali president "our president," and says "we call the shots in the US." She said, "Somalia is for Somalis only, as over 45% of Somalia's population are not even ethnic Somalis." If an American said that about the United States in reference to Somalis, we'd never hear the end of it.
Ilhan Omar also pledged to use the power of the U.S. government to wage a war of liberation against Ethiopia, Kenya, Somaliland, and Djibouti for what she considers to be occupied Somali territory. This is in support of her vision of Greater Somalia.
TIME Magazine once described her as "making U.S. history." She certainly has, but not in any positive way (for Americans).
While many on the far left continue to defend her, President Trump himself has denounced her as well as the chaotic and destructive Somali culture itself. This simple, honest statement has already brought on protests from Somalis worldwide.
Somali protestors gathered in Mogadishu yesterday, on December 5, to protest President Donald Trump's remarks about the East African country and its people. Alongside that came backing from the liberal media, with the New York Post describing Trump's words, in the description on their YouTube channel coverage, "In a furious rant, Trump bitterly berated the Somalian migrants in Minnesota."
Somalia is widely regarded as one of the most chaotic and unstable countries in the world. The situation has been decades of civil war, weak governance, and ongoing conflicts among various clans and militant groups, such as Al-Shabaab. The country's status as a failed state has led to lawlessness, piracy, extreme poverty, and humanitarian crises impacting millions of people. Efforts to rebuild governance and infrastructure have been hindered by political infighting and a lack of centralized control.
The capital, Mogadishu, while the seat of the internationally recognized government, is periodically rocked by bombings and assassinations, and security remains tenuous despite the African Union peacekeeping presence.
Somalia's economy relies heavily on money from its people living abroad, like in the U.S, and many Somalis face food insecurity due to regular droughts and displacement. Compared to "more stable" African nations, Somalia is behind in development, human rights, and prosperity indices. When it comes to America, it can't be compared. We are that far apart in terms of "civilization."
Somalia tells a tale of fractured politics, starvation, war, Islamic extremism, and enduring instability that Omar seemingly embraces in her public declarations.
No precise aggregate count exists for Christians killed in Somalia from 2020 to 2025 due to the country's chaos, lack of reliable reporting, and underground Christian communities numbering only a few hundred.
Open Doors ranks Somalia #2 on its 2025 World Watch List for extreme persecution, where converts from Islam face instant execution by Al-Shabaab militants or family upon discovery, alongside sexual violence, forced marriage, and house arrest. Specific incidents include beheadings and killings, but annual tallies are not published.

Omar hails from Somalia's influential Darod clan, wielding leverage in Minneapolis's Somali community where clan politics mirror homeland rivalries, including support for President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud (Hawiye clan) against Somaliland. Her "Squad" alignment with Rashida Tlaib and Cori Bush extends anti-Israel advocacy, boycotting AIPAC while embracing CAIR events, ironically, the same forum where she downplayed 9/11 as "some people did something".
Beyond her loyalty to Somalia, she also supports Islam as a whole and rejects the values of the West.
Ilhan Omar has consistently voiced strong support for "Palestine," frequently criticizing Israel as an "apartheid" state and condemning its military responses to Hamas attacks, such as after the October 7, 2023, assault where she equated Israeli victims of rape and murder with Palestinian casualties who were warned ahead of time to leave the area, and opposed the IDF's Gaza operations.
In 2021, she started listing "unthinkable atrocities" committed by the U.S, Israel, Hamas, and the Taliban in the same breath during a House hearing. She sees the United States of America, Israel, and actual terrorist organizations like Hamas as "equal." All the while still supporting Hamas, rather than the U.S. itself.
Persistent allegations claim Ilhan Omar committed immigration fraud by marrying her brother, Ahmed Nur Said Elmi, in 2009 to secure his U.S. residency while already wed to another man, which would invalidate her 2000 naturalization. Republicans like Reps. Randy Fine and Andy Ogles have demanded a Justice Department probe just this month, December 2025.
Ilhan Omar's disgraceful record, from marriage fraud to peddling a failed jihadist hellhole and Hamas sympathies, proves foreign invaders have no place in Congress. Her Somalia-first treason imports murder, rape, and Al-Shabaab savagery to Minnesota, spitting on her oath to America.
Real Americans are demanding her immediate expulsion, DOJ prosecution, and deportation now before this anti-West cancer spreads further.
True loyalty requires undivided allegiance to America alone. As President Roosevelt made clear decades ago, one cannot fully serve this nation while placing foreign interests first or pretending divided loyalties will be tolerated. Assimilation means embracing American values and identity without reservation or apology.
