President Donald Trump installed a framed photograph of himself and Russian President Vladimir Putin in the White House Palm Room. The image shows the two leaders walking together during their August 2025 summit in Anchorage, Alaska. PBS White House correspondent Elizabeth Landers reported the placement on Tuesday, January 27, 2026.
The Putin photo hangs above a picture of Trump at the Daytona 500 in February 2025 with his granddaughter, Carolina. Landers noted the display in a vestibule connecting the West Wing to the Executive Residence.
Trump received the photo from Putin after their Alaska meeting, which centered on the Russia-Ukraine war. Trump displayed it in the Oval Office on August 22, 2025, and spoke positively about potential cooperation.
