Ilhan Omar’s Fraud World Is Crashing into the Open

Ilhan Omar built a career screaming about “greed,” “corruption,” and “privilege,” but the stories coming out of Minnesota and her own household make her look like just another swamp creature who cashed in and laughed in our faces.

In her district, prosecutors are still untangling what they call one of the biggest welfare scams in American history, a $1 billion explosion of fake “feeding the children” programs that became a cash machine for connected operators in the Somali community.

A key hub was Safari Restaurant in Minneapolis, where Omar hosted her 2018 victory party and filmed herself praising the COVID meal program that ran through the place. Co‑owner Salim Ahmed Said has now been convicted of stealing more than $12 million through phantom meals, money that went to a $2 million mansion and $9,000 a month shopping sprees while poor kids were used as paperwork props. Omar also pushed the MEALS Act, which relaxed oversight and helped open the floodgates, and at least one staffer and several donors in her orbit have been swept up in the same scandal.

At the very same time that tax dollars were being looted at home, Omar’s own lifestyle quietly went from “working class progressive” to champagne socialist. New filings show that her household net worth jumped almost 3,500% in a year, into a range of 6 to 30 million dollars, almost all of it tied to the sudden “success” of her husband Tim Mynett’s businesses.

His venture firm, Rose Lake Capital, went from basically nothing to an asset value between 5 and 25 million, and their California winery is now listed between 1 and 5 million after investors accused the owners of swindling them in a deal that was supposed to turn $300,000 into $900,000. These are the same wine and weed ventures that triggered an ethics complaint last year for hidden assets and undisclosed income tied directly to Omar’s position and connections.

So the picture is simple and ugly. While Omar plays the victim and lectures America about Islamophobia, capitalism, and “justice,” the people closest to her are getting rich off fake charity schemes, and her own husband is riding a rocket of shady deals, lawsuits, and suddenly very valuable companies. It’s EXACTLY what the Bidens did and are probably still doing.

She claimed on camera that it was “categorically false” to say she was worth millions even as her own disclosure put her household wealth in that range, and she still expects ordinary voters to believe she is just a humble public servant. For a woman who wraps herself in religion and “service,” it looks a lot more like a gang that feeds on taxpayers, donors, and investors, and then laughs about it on television.
