A coordinated smear campaign, boosted by Chinese propaganda accounts on X, falsely turns a legitimate 1991 modeling event into an invented scandal, proving once again how desperate the left and their foreign allies are to lie about Trump with zero evidence.
The baseless narrative exploded across social media in July 2025 and resurfaced in early 2026, claiming Donald Trump judged a teen modeling contest in 1991 that The Guardian "recently discovered" served as a front for millionaires to have sex with underage girls.
This claim is a complete fabrication. They are running out of ideas and are now turning to reporting pure fiction without a hint of news.
The event was the Look of the Year competition run by Elite Model Management in September 1991 in New York City.
It featured 58 contestants aged 14 to 19 competing for modeling contracts. Trump served as one of ten judges alongside Faye Dunaway, Gianni Versace, and others. He hosted parts of the event at his Plaza Hotel and provided lodging for participants. The competition included public interviews, photoshoots, and dinners. Parents attended many events, and industry scouts observed everything.
The Guardian published an article on March 14, 2020, titled "Teen models, powerful men and private dinners: when Trump hosted Look of the Year." The piece examined broader issues in the 1990s modeling industry, including allegations that John Casablancas, Elite's founder, pursued sexual relationships with young models.
It quoted former contestants who described exploitation in the industry but never claimed the 1991 contest itself was organized as a front for sex. No evidence in the article links Trump to any misconduct during the event.
